Northland Alert (Subscription Required)

The City of Hibbing uses an emergency notification system to alert the public about emergencies and other important community news.  Through Northland Alert, anyone can subscribe to receive emergency notices by phone, text and/or email. Northland Alert enables officials to provide essential information quickly when there is a threat to the health and safety of residents.

Subscribe to Northland Alert: To receive notices from Northland Alert, you must subscribe and provide the contact information you wish us to use. All information will be kept strictly confidential.

Northland Alert is done in partnership with the St. Louis County and cities of Duluth, Hermantown, and Virginia. On the subscription page you also will have the option to sign up for notices from these cities.

IPAWS: Integrated Public Alert & Warning System (no subscription needed)

Northland Alert also provides an emergency notification system that does not require a subscription. In the event of particular dangerous situations in which residents are urged to take immediate action (such as an order to evacuate or seek safe shelter), a text message will be sent to all cell phones within range of the emergency situation. These alerts make use of cell towers to identify all cell phone users within the affected area at the time of the emergency.
