Dog licenses are available from the Clerk's Office in City Hall. A license is required for any dog over six (6) months of age. Applicants must bring a certificate signed by a veterinarian, licensed to practice veterinary medicine, that the dog has been currently immunized against rabies.

Effective July 1, 2013, dog licenses must be purchased annually (or for up to three years at a time) at the following prices:

Annual Dog License Fee:

  • $7.00 annually, if neutered/spayed ($14 for a two year license, $21 for a three year license)
  • $10.00 annually, if not neutered/spayed.

Duplicate tags, if lost, are $0.25 (25 cents).

All licensed dogs shall wear a collar and have a tag firmly affixed thereto evidencing its registered number. A duplicate for a lost tag may be issued by the City Clerk upon presentation of the receipt showing payment of the license fee, and upon payment of the fee of $.25 for issuance of the duplicate. It is unlawful for any person who is the owner, or other person in possession of a dog, to permit such dog to run at large; provided, that such dog shall not be deemed to be running at large if it is on a leash and otherwise under the control of an accompanying person or on the property of the owner.
